For some reason I didn't notice your other post, but at times I do try to get some work done which sometimes means keeping away from M-J.com.

I can't give you any advice on the Mean Streak but it is interesting you and I have essentially the same bike. You have the last year of the Intruder and I have the first year of the S50. Great bikes IMO, and still being made after 20 years. But I suppose fuel injection would be nice. Hmmm...

Stay tuned however, this has been a popular thread and now it has been bumped up to the top of the "Recent Post" list and all the guys will check in to see what's going on.

Post often and ride safe.

Thunderburd, yes, you are correct we basically have the same bike, the only real changes are the handlebars, seat and tool kit holder. I do love that bike and who knows, I may end up just staying with it. Suzuki really does need to make some upgrades to it though, don’t you think? Oh, and hey, I see we’re practically neighbors!

I personally have a 2003 version. Suz..that's to be wife Suz, normally rides her Gixxer 750. And of course she has nice legs Quality Control She can ride it and she is 5'4" as well. Yes it is heavier; however, it's balanced nice. The weight I think you would get use to. Even if it would fall on you there are ways of raising it.
Jammer, thanks for thumbs up on the Mean Streak. I did get to sit on the Mean Streak and you are right about the low center of gravity. Everything I’ve read about it indicates it is a very nice handling bike. As I mentioned to Tallannie, I’m a little more concerned with maneuvering it around small areas like the gas station and such.

Thanks Bikerbabe for letting me butt in on your thread and for the welcome. Like you, I’m basically a shy type and don’t get online as much as I probably could.
So... what, that's about 5 females here, hmm!

Yeah, it's a great bike and is a perfect fit for me. I do like the Intruders handlebars better though. Fuel injection would be nice addition to this bike in my opinion. My S50 is a little difficult to start and takes a while to warm up. I once dropped it during practice when it died in the middle of a u-turn because it wasn't warmed up enough. Oops.

I didn't know where Tinley Park was so I had to look it up. I will be passing through your neck of the woods next week as I go down I294 on my monthly (or thereabouts) trip to the southern corporate office. Somehow I have to figure out how to coordinate with a stop at the Motorcycle Show.

It's nice to have another Intruder/S50 rider on boards. Ride safe.

Wish you were around here..I let people take mine and see what I'm talking about in walking it. It's even easier to back up than my Gixxer. Best way to put it...is Suz which is small and only 5'4", with nice legs of course , she would take it slow in the parking lots walking and she does just fine.
