Default New Girl!

Hello, everyone!

I am a seventeen year old girl from North Carolina. I've been hearing from my grandfather how wonderful it is to ride a motorcycle since I was a wee girl. I have secretly wanted to ride a bike my entire life. Recently, I told my parents and a few of my friends about my hopes, and got permission from my parents to take the Motorcycle Safety Course. That's a start!

So. I have no bike. I have never touched a bike. I've ogled plenty, though, and listened to stories about them for a very long time. That's something, right?

Hoping to get on a bike soon,

Brit

Welcome to the boards! Have fun at the safety course and don't get discouraged if you don't get it right away. You'll thank yourself once you have that first smooth ride.

any idea what style of bike you'll be looking to get once you start riding? Cruiser, sport, tourer, standard, dual sport?

MSF is a good start. Depending on what kind of motorcycle you are looking at, there will be plenty of members here to help you out on what a good choice for a first bike would be.

Kay is ok, as long as we stay off the following subjects:

katana, water pistol, arrow....

We seem to be popular in the Carolinas. Is it something in the water?

Welcome.

Hey Brit,

I'm a newbee on this forum, too. But, not to riding. Anyway, I work, during the summer, for the NIU MSF classes. If you keep your mind open to what the instructors are telling you, and listen to them, and then do the exercises to the best of your ability, without getting frustrated, you should be fine. A lot of people, mostly, but not always, guys, think they know what they need to do and they just don't listen. A lot of times, they are the ones that fail, or pass by the skin of their teeth. Most importantly, have fun. When you do pass, practice, practice, practice.

Good luck and ride safe.

Welcome to the site. Glad to have you. Hey, shouldn't we all wear a little sticker on our shirts with our names on them for when new people arrive?

Oh, and Kurt, the last time I remember someone posting about being an MSF instructor, he ended up marrying one of his students.

Nor ruin your skin with road rashes, so wear proper gear!!

Have fun here.
