|  Back in the Saddle Again
It's great to find this site and to be back in the saddle again. Quit riding at age 17 after a wreck, some time in the hospital, and dire threats from my dad as to what would happen if I ever went near another bike. I made the same threats to my sons. However it did no good...when one son was over 30, he came by my house to show me his new bike. Great, I thought, now I can get back to a long lost love. A week later I was riding again. He and his wife are now my riding partners. To celebrate my 70th birthday, we rode the Tail of the Dragon at Deal's Gap and this past summer took a ride from Tennessee to Florida. All of my bikes have been vintage Honda's, but just bought a new Suzuki M50 Boulevard to make long distance trips a little more reliable. (No matter how far from home, dealers don't like to work on 30 year old bikes!) If I see you on the road, you'll know it's me because I'll give you a wave.  |
