| Hi all I'm new to this site - and fairly new to CT as well. I found this site because I'm looking for a new bike and looking for advice. Right now I have a 2004 Suzuki Savage that I bought new. Last Spring my husband and I rode our bikes from MI (our old home) to CT (our new one) and I learned that my Savage and I are just not the good friends we once were. She's REALLY uncomfortable. I'm not really big (5'3" not thin, but not too chubby either). I've been to some dealers and tried out (just sitting on since dealerships around here don't let you test ride) a Suzuki C50 and a Yamaha V Star 650. The C50 feels a tiny bit big, while the V Star feels just right. I know that sounds like the decision should be easy, but here's the problem. My Savage felt "just right" a few years ago, and she turned out not to be - I quickly outgrew her. I want this purchase to be one that I'm happy with for a number of years. The C50 is fuel-injected, while the V Star has a carburator/choke. An interested bystander at the dealer suggested that after a couple of weeks on the C50 I'd feel just fine. He was not a salesman, just a random guy who said he was delighted to see a girl getting her own bike. So what do you all think? Anyone who know CT understands we have windy roads. When we take long trips we like to take back roads and state highways as opposed to the interstate. Any help is appreciated Lizzie |

| ![]() I've heard lots of people outgrow the Vstar 650 but very few outgrow the C50-they may look similar, but performance is night and day. I had a S40 (new version of Savage) and out grew it in less than a year, bought a M50 and WOW what a difference-

| Welcome to the forum Lizzie. Here's an idea, take an M50 and lower it about 2" with some modified dogbones. My daughter is about your height 5'3", she loves her Intruder 800, now renamed the Boulevard S50, it is a little thinner than the C or M. There are lots of options and modifications available, I'm sure the C50 could be adjusted to fit you better. Enjoy and ride safe.

| Thanks for the input people. I have the day off today, so Violet (my Savage) and I are going to be putting on a few miles to check out some bikes. We'll let you know how it goes. Lizzie |

| Thanks guys. I appreciated the input. So, here's what happened. I went out today and tried more bikes and asked lots more questions. By the end of the afternoon it was clear to me that every time I sat on the C50, it felt less big and more comfortable. After I started working with a saleman I found that he would offer me an excellent deal on a new 2006 model that was still in his showroom. Too good to refuse....so on Monday I pick up my new baby. Now what to name her.... (Weird I know, but I name my bikes.) Lizzie |

| Hey Lizzie! This'll be my first post as a new member to this site as of today. I'm excited for you and the new C50. I bought an '06 C90T a year ago and I've been very happy with it. I'm anxious to get going on the exhaust modifications as it is too quiet and a couple of other things, but as far as the ride: it's smooth and comfortable. I have a friend who got a C50 a few months ago and is happy with it also.
