Hi, all.

I bought my first bike 2 years ago and didn't know how to ride, didn't have a license, no insurance and couldn't see out of my dark sunglasses at night!

Thank god, things have changed. I know how ride a lot better (although I need more education), I have a new helmet, new leather jacket, new pants, gloves coming and a few more accessories for the bike.

The bike is a 1995 Honda Shadow ACE VT1100. I like it because it has a single pin crank and cobra pipes. Sounds like my old '68 Chevy Nova V8. That's actually why I bought it. They guy wanted $3500, but I picked it up for $2700 with 11,000 miles.

It ran great for the next 5,000 miles, including a Circle Tour trip (around Lake Michigan) and around the city. I have since spend about $300 on maintenance (oil & filter changes, brake fluid flush, spark plugs, rear diff lube, coolant flush, air filter)

I am planning a trip to the Blue Ridge Parkway for 5.5 day and 2100 miles in July. Can't wait to add a mini tachometer, but still need to replace the fuel filter before we go.
