Derek

I hear that 650R is a real sweet little bike. How many miles do you have on yours, and what are your thoughts about it?

I only have about 2500 on it so far. It is my first bike and I love it. I told myself when I bought it that I would ride it stock for a season and then the next season I would add some mods. Im in the process of doing that now. Its been a trial and error process since I have never worked on a bike before. I actually messed up and broke a piece of my throttle cable so I have been waiting for the replacement to come in the mail. I hope its not a big deal to install it though. So even if I wanted to, I cant ride yet. I'm also not a big fan of riding when it is 35-40 out and drizzling so I'm forced to wait a few weeks.

But overall, the bike is great, I like the more upright riding position and I am not one of those crazy people that go 140 on the highway so I dont see myself outgrowing it.

Well, if you can get down this way that fast...come down for Laconia Bike Week. I'll play host and provide a base of operations for you and any fellow MJ members.

Wouldn't that be awesome... maybe next year, I'm a little poor right now... poor and happy, though.

Phffft, Money, don't need money. You can stay at the shop in Epsom. It has a full bath with shower, break room, inside parking. Heck, it even has Direct TV.

Really? I was thinking about this meet too. There's a great leather guy I would expect to find there. It's Art's Cow Parts (or something like that). I got my jacket from him years ago & I'm thinking about getting a few other items from him too. I'll just have to give him a call & see if he's going to go there...and if he can make up what I need by the meet.

Although, I probably wouldn't impose....it would be nice to see some fellow MJ'r there. I'd probably only do an overnight trip and either camp or get a motel (I'm not too fussy)...but it's really got me thinking. Let me check the distance from NY & if my vendor will be there. I'll get back to you.
