Default Hello all!

I've had my '05 C50 for 18 mos and love it. I commute over the SF Bay Bridge on it 4-5 days a week. It's got 6k miles. Question: I last changed oil at 4,000 mi. and was told to bring it in at 6,000. Is this a good interval? Too often? Reason I ask is the service mgr. just told me that I could easily put another 1,000 mi. on it before bringing it in. Is he putting me on?
Thanks!!

I don't see any reason to change oil more often than every 3000 miles.

Oil changes on your bike are easy, why not do them yourself. You can get oil, and filter from Fleet Farm for $12, instead of giving the dealer $50 for the same job. That way you could have him do the 6000 mile service now, and change the oil yourself in another 1000 miles.

To answer your question. Unless you are noticing a problem, waiting another 1000 miles shouldn't hurt anything. The service intervals arn't written in stone, they are just meant as a guideline.

Thanks, Rickster.

Sounds reasonable, both to do it myself and to wait a bit longer.
