Default Testing out my camera Mount

I just finished making the camera mount from an earlier thread. Works pretty well. I still need to fiddle with it a little to get the hose clamps to clamp the mount down level. That's why the video is a little tilted. Made a quick little video testing out the mount. Just went out to the highway and back to the apartment. Found out two things though when I tested it. I really need to clean my windscreen, and i need to figure out how to pad the windscreen so it doesn't rattle. I get it fitted right I'm going to paint it so it doesn't stick out so bad.

The video is still uploading I'll link to it in the morning.

Here's the video. It's about 3 minutes of me just tooling around, nothing really exciting.

I AGREE

The really annoying buzzing sound is the windscreen rattling. Any ingenious ideas on how I could fix it? I'm thinking of modifying some weather stripping?

I could not hear it, only the motor. I think it would be OK if you could just fix the vibration so the video is a little more stable. Maybe some foam insulation under the mount?

I agree. I could not hear the noise you were talking about but I would look at a way to cancel out some or most of the vibration in the camera.

When you get that taken care of, post another video for our viewing pleasure.

Yeah it was, it's just one of those annoying things I'd like to get fixed, much more noticeable when actually riding the bike. Haven't had too much time to work on it since I made it. Hopefully in the next couple weeks I'll have it working better and take it into the canyons outside of town.

DIY Camera Mount
This is the one I used, you have to customize a little for your own bike though.

This is a link I found on another forum.

$5 Motorcycle Camera Mount - Instructables - DIY, How To, ride, photography - Entry

I'll be building this someday unless I see a better idea. Think that I'd shorten up the bolt and try to get better contact between the camera and the nut to further stabilize the assembly. It's all just a bunch of plastic, it's going to flex to a certain extent I suppose.

Ok, I see what you used now. I like the attachment to the camera better than the one I posted. Interesting. Going to have to do this soon.

I had to keep the screw long so the camera was above the instrument cluster. I think i'm going to use jam nuts instead of that wing nut to tighten up to the camera. The camera and nut wanted to loosen while I was riding.
