| I found this .. Looks like a biker T-boned a car killing the rider. Its bloody and graphic but a short video... Disgusting Aftermath of a Terrible Motorcycle Crash - NothingToxic.com Can't stress enough ppl that you have to watch these cagers that pull up to these side roads. No.. they don't see you and YES you should slow down and be prepared for him to pull out infront of you. What I do is simple.. I have a little trigger that comes standard I think now on newer bikes where you can flash your brights on and off. This IS effective and it does work to help get their attention. So do what you have to do to be seen.. and be safe.. |

I think I will steal that idea tomorrow. It should be effective when riding in rain cuz bikes will be more difficult to be seen. Thanks for the great tip!

| yep... nasty. The kind of thing my mom showed me to scare me off riding for most of my life. I also have the momentary switch which helps...but I had a Cobar light bar put on... set up to come on with low beam. I ride with high beam all the time now and when I need to be seen I flip to lows and go from 1 light to 3. If anything is going to, THAT should get attention.

| I don't know if that's such a good idea Busa-boy .....I was talking to some guys at work a few months ago and they asked about this flashing the high beam stuff, that they had seen ( by the way, none of these guys ride ) . Well they thought that flashing the high off and on means: Go ahead and pull out .

| Annie, that's a good idea, I'm going to start shopping for something like that today. During the day I mostly ride with the highbeam on (as recommended by one of my BRC instructors) so the momentary switch doesn't really help much. The low beam on some bikes including mine are not much to be seen on a bright sunny day. If anyone likes to ride with the low bean on during the day, I suggest you have a friend ride your bike and follow you on a drive to make sure that's what you want. BTW that is a gruesome video. I passed a minor accident yesterday that apparently had just happened because the police weren't there yet. A small car had pulled out in front of a minivan and they both had a little front end damage but I'm sure no one was hurt. I must have missed this happening by a minute or two. What impressed me most was the realization that if idiots like this guy can't see a minivan, how are they going to see me.

| I agree with Warputer. Flashing your lights may confuse the issue. If you were in the same situation while driving in your car, would you flash your lights? No, so why do it on a bike? I always do 3 things: 1- I always ride w/ my Hi beams on during the day 2 - I keep my eyes on their tires. I check to see which way they are pointed (so I know if they are turning left or right) and I watch for them to start rolling. 3 - Anticipate and have a plan of avoidance if the idiot does pull out |

| From what I seen...............he had to be moving on to cave the side of the car in like that. No excuse for pulling out in front of someone but hey......speed kills
