The bike sounds good...there is one interesting thing...33 views since my posting and only one comment about the gear....if this video was of a slightly younger person on a sportbike, the whole motorcycle-journal community would be screaming "squid"...dont get me wrong here CTLawyer, I enjoyed the video, as i do most videos involving anything motorcycle-related, especially the M50, so with that said, all I'm saying is there is a double standard here.

OK, I'll bite. What the hell does "squid" mean in this little world of closeted entusiasts? I assume it is derogatory. My art is not above the contempt of those who wear baggy pants, ride sport bikes and other Philistines. You can't see my anchor tatoo in the video, so I assume it is not about the Navy. So what gives? Is it the bags on the back? Saddle bags make her look fat. How is that remotely cephalopodic (look it up)?

I wasn't calling you a squid, CT. The +1 was because I agreed with d m50's link to the definition of the word "squid". If you read my previous post, I wrote that I liked the video, I thought it was pretty cool. What I don't like is this...Had you made the EXACT same video, but been on a "sportbike", half of the people on this board would be yelling squid this and squid that...Thats what I don't like. I like all videos involving motorcycles, whether it be a blast down the highway, stunt in a parking lot, a wheelie through traffic wearing nothing but a pair of cowboy boots. Everyone has a different riding style and sense of safety, and thats fine. But, there are alot of "squid-rants" on this forum.

Because Squids make the rest of us look bad. The general publics' only real issue with cruiser riders is the loud pipes (that's another discussion), but reckless riders on flashy sport bikes get a lot of bad press (most deserved, some not-IMHO). Now I've only been a member here a few months so I don't have the right to talk for others, but it seems to me that most of the squid bashing is towards newbies want to ride race bikes as their 1st bikes-just dumb-most of them wear helmets, and alot wear full gear (matching race team leathers) but alot don't. A kid (18yo) at work bought himself a Ninja 636 as his first bike and always wears a helmet, but also t-shirt, shorts, and sandles while regularly doing 100+mph-that's a squid, and I've told him so. By the way he's already had 2 wrecks.

I guess I'm a squid

I'm just a squid that doesn't want to die.
I read here mostly for the safety aspects and biking tips.
