| No Significant Other ![]() | Nope, just an example\reason to wear safety gear. Regardless of what that Skippy was doing, it was a good example of a solo crash at medium speed ( 60-70 mph ? ). A similar crash could have been caused by sand, oil, blown tire, critters, etc.. I'm assuming that the guy was not seriously hurt based on the reactions of the fellow Skippie's. I attribute that to the gear the stunter wanna be was wearing. I was also amazed that the helmet went through that much punishment without coming apart. I live in the state of New Hampshire. Our state motto is " Live Free or Die " and it's really not a joke or some out date quote from the revolutionary war. Limited government over-site is key to life here. Just a few examples: * no income tax * no sales tax * no helmet laws * no seat belt law ( for adults ) * no insurance required * employment " At Will " ( not a state to go to for welfare ) This makes it great for freedom of choice but, it has it's costs. The " Stunting " these guys were doing goes on here too. Only thing is that the ones doing it here can, and do, pull these stunts dressed in shorts and tee shirts. Don't forget the above, NO insurance required. Because of that, if you want insurance it's very expensive and many choose not to spend the extra money. One can't help but feel sorry for the family of the kid that goes flying by at 90 mph in his beach clothes. There is even a company in this area that makes a good profit off this... Argo Cycles. It also makes New Hampshire popular with motorcycle riders from other states with more restrictive laws. On a nice riding day, if you pass a rest area just over the border, you'll find quite a few bikers in the rest areas changing into their " freedom riding clothes ". When I was young I didn't care that much about what others did. " Screw 'em, it's their life " Now that I'm older, fair weather riding, Laconia Bike Week and Nascar racing is coming again, all I can hope for is that the people I know and their children who are starting to ride are being careful and wearing the gear that could keep them alive.
