Holy ressurected, old, dead, buried, back from cyberspace heaven, posts Batman !!! Well, this is kind of appropriate since I just bought some new riding boots at lunch today !!! Boulet leather motorcycle boots with oil resistant, anti-slip sole. Made in Québec, sold internationally !!! I used to ride with running shoes, since I thought boots were very expensive, but the possibility of my ankles getting screwed and losing lower leg skin in a crash has been bugging me a lot. Best 125$ I have spent, they feel like slippers!

A heavy duty hiker that comes up over my ankle...laces all the way from the tip of the boot to the top and super strong material, more supportive than any riding boot I've ever owned and more comfortable

I think that was money worth spent. I usually wear leather riding boots (Touring Lady from Ducati) and racing boots on tracks (Ku%%%%ani - a Japan brand that is REALLY good and comfy!!) for better protection. Basically, like Clint, I want to protect my ancles.

Here's what mine look like after a wreck: link link link link Sorry the last one's blurry. That boot won't unzip any more...and after a new lace, I've just been lacing it up. I want another pair of boots...and think this time I'll go with actual riding boots designed for bikes.

No, seriously! My only "on the road wreck" occurred in a small town, smack down on "main street" going 25 miles an hour. Had I not had boots on, I'm sure I would have done MUCH more damage to my foot other than it just hurting like a mofo. I used to wear my "Born" brand shoes on the ride to work. Now I wear my boots...and put my shoes on when I get to work.
