I wear a Shoei RF1000. It's ok, I had an Rf 200 befor this and it was real comfortable.

I was offered a 50% discount on a solid black one and it fit well enough. I simply could not pass it up. I prefer to ride w/o, but in the winter that's just brutal. (I should also mention I have no windshield) What I REALLY like about it is the flip-up feature. It gives me the best of all possibilities. For instance, if I ever need to get something out of my jacket pocket or need an improved view when looking back over my shoulder, all I have to do is lift the face and I can see as if I had an open face helmet on. And for the money, (even at the full price) it is a solid helmet. Remember, one impact on its done!

How many impacts before your head is "done"?

I also have a AGV GP-1 Rossi Replica full face as a spare and 2 AFX FX-7 half helmets for those hot daze putting around town.
Update;
1. Make: Caberg
2. Model: Justissimo FX
3. Approximate price paid: ~$312.00
4. Approximate age of helmet 3 Mos.

Pro: The Caberg is very comfortable and I love the retractable, tinted inside visor. There is no need to carry two face shields now.
As with all flip ups there is some wind noise but not as much as my now retired SyMax.

Cons: There could be more chin room but unless you are Jay Leno you should be OK.
The chin strap and latch take some getting used to.
There is no room for headsets for Comm units or Ipods.

Over all I give it a two thumbs up.

Fits nice with a dorag, skull cap, or ball cap.

I wouldn't ride w/o a helmet. Last time I took a tumble my head hit a rock. I was wearing a helmet and it split from front to back. Rather it be the helmet than my skull...

Just my thoughts.

Safe riding

1. Make: Vega
2. Model: Summit XPV
3. Approximate price paid: $130
4. Approximate age of helmet (in months): 10

PROS: Decent ventilation, wide range of colors, easy interchangeable faceshield, less expensive then most flip-ups.
CONS: On the heavy side, plastic mechanical parts break easily/has flimsy feel.

They just came out with a Summit II so perhaps there is some improvement. Don't get me wrong--it's a sturdy helmet, the flipup mechanism seems cheap.

I was expecting to pay upwards of $300 for a helmet so I tried on many including shoei and arai. I must have a big melon because their xl was too small. they did have a xxl in the scorpion and it fit awsome and was both dot and snell approved so that is the one I bought. And I really like the graphics. I got the silver one.

Four Helmets 2 HJC half helmets (don't know the model) and 2 HJC Von Breaker full face. The half helmets cost me $70.00 each over a year ago, and the Von Breakers I caught on sale for $69.00 each 7 months ago.

The half helmets have since been painted to match the bike (ghost flames) so if I ever have to use them, it will cost alot more the $70.00. I wore the full face when I went to the Dragon on fathers day, you can see it on Killboy.com, 6-18-06 first page of the cruisers.

Second helmet is an HJC Sy-Max, paid about $169 for it (got a real good special online, but can't remember the actual price I paid), that lid is about 2 years old now...I have to replace the cheekpads though. I washed them with soap and water, and they seem to have gotten stiff and rough feeling, so that helmut isn't as comfortable to wear now as it once was...

And I have a Skid Lid half-helmut (DOT) for short in-town rides (when it's hot)...though I prefer the full face, the half lid is handy with glasses or that quick run over to a buddy's house.

It is very snug, but not uncomfortable. It is oh so quite even at highway speeds. For me thats worth more than a soft liner. Plus with less soft lining inside, the cooler is should be. I love this helmet!
