I ended up getting some larger cheek pads - made it fit much better. It could use more vent action when the Alabama summertime temps get on up there.
Hey c50Tiger... That is one heck of a good price for that helmet. Are you sure it's not a CL-Max.

Primary Helmet
1. Make: HJC
2. Model: Sy-Max
3. Approximate price paid: ~$190.00 (Cheapest I found for a Sy-Max)
4. Approximate age of helmet 3 Mos.

I also have a AGV GP-1 Rossi Replica full face as a spare and 2 AFX FX-7 half helmets for those hot daze putting around town.

A 3/4 with face shield. In 15 years it is the first helmet that feels like it was made for me.

I just bought my third Z1R. One for Wifey, one for my son, and one for moi. They rock and they are safe. Plus, I am able to buy three for less than the cost of many other single helmets.

Nice and comfy, except the guard in the front touches my nose, that gets aggravating a little

Just bought a cheap helmet cause i was low on funds, it's comfy until high speeds then it starts to lift. It seemed to fit snug when i bought it.

mine actually lifts a little too when on the highway, especially on the cruiser, it didnt do it too much on the sport bike but it fits snug also. i had a small but it was too tight so i returned it and got a medium... but now i just wear a skull cap and it doesnt move at all...

This helmet fits well and is very comfortable. I chose it because the sun visor and face shield can be used at the same time, and the face shield can be opened under the sun visor at lower speeds. A nice cruiser helmet, and a reputable maker.

HELMET??!! What helmet??!!

Just kidding. I do have three... an Arai Signet (my fav.. bought on Ebay for $250 in new condition), a Nolan N100 (least fav, loose feel), and an HJC Symax (nice fit, easy to change visors, but poor ventilation on the top, and forget about it on cold days. You'll freeze yer chin and cheeks off!)

Default Helmet prices...

Sounds to me like a lot of you pay too much for brand new... try this link. Best I have found so far...

MotoEmporium

Or for more here's another in Daytona Beach, Florida...

HelmetsRUs

And you can probably get shipping waived if you're nice

I did!

I have a Scorpion exo 400 blue , paid $123. Tried on so many, this one was more comfy than the expensive ones. Love it!

Default 3/4 Helmet itches me at high speeds

I wear a HJC 3/4 helmet with a face mask in the summer. When I get on highways going about 65, the helmet must move around enough to cause my scalp to itch a little--very strange huh? But at least with the full face mask I don't have the helmet wanting to take off into space
