| Why should helmet laws be needed? Stupid is as stupid does. Helmets are the obvious choice. I figure dont crowd the law books with one more thing for people to legislate and sue each other over.

| I wear, and am for, mandatory helmet laws. Florida saw an 81% increase in fatalities and an 83% increase in head injury in the past three years without mandatory helmets compared with the prior three years. If you chose not to wear one, then you should not be entitled to any state / federal financial assistance for your medical care at the time of the accident or down the road. (for example, Medicaid when you are a semi-functioning person with a traumatic brain injury). But then, I'm also for tougher motorcycle endorsement testing and mandatory MSF training, like was said in these threads EIGHT MONTHS AGO.

| Well I understand free choice, but it would be nice to prevent some of those stupid people from wasting their life. I am mostly thinking of those that just dont think about what could happen. The people out there that refuse to wear one, still wont. The local paper had an article about Lubbock riders that ride without helmets after Roethlisberger wiped out. Then they interviewed some lady here. She said that she did not like to ride with a helmet because she liked to wear hats that matched her bike. WTF?!?!?! In the picture she was wearing a red had with a maroon bike! I really hope there are smarter people here.

| Nay on helmet laws. It will only lead as a gateway to other, more restrictive laws.

| Nobody should FORCE you to wear one, but I always have and feel naked without it. It's just a part of how I perceive the way the bike should feel when riding, and not wearing one is as uncomfortable as turning compression damping up all the way. Now on the other hand, I DO NOT want to hear any sniveling or whining abut how "dangerous" motorcycles are when some Squid wheelies his hide onto the freeway and dies. That's his choice too, not the motorcycle's fault. |

| Third gear and cruising ![]() | It really doesnt matter either way to me. I wear mine and I think it is a personal choice. Seat belt laws doesnt mean that people are actually using them. It just says that you are supposed to and no more.

| I live in Edmonton Alberta....GO OILERS GO...... and helmets are the law here. We are role models for teens, tweens and kids. I know if I had children I would want them wearing a helmet if bicycling or motorcycling. Helmets are the obvious choice. Life is better than "looking good." |

I think they should do pot like they do mooshine here in the state of ky your allowed to have so much for personal useage anything over then get busted, reason if they allowed you to grow a few ( 2 to 4 plants a year) then the dealers would be out and wouldnt be pushing it to kids as for the law it's fine for minors but as adults I feel it should be your choice as I choose to wear mine, but some choose not to here in ky | |

| i always wear my helmet, no law, just choice. (too many old ladies driving around) anyways, what about what happened with Ben Roethlisberger, does anyone think what he all said, and what happened will change the way the pro helmet law people will start to push for a helmet law? |

| Although I haven’t ridden without a helmet in many years, and seldom ever did, I’m of the wrong generation to tolerate big-brotherisms without scowl...
