Do you think we should not wear helmets? If you don't know about the advantages of helmets....

Be glad we're wearing helmets - don't bash us 'cause we're not wearing the same on you are!

I have worn 3 diff. full face, 1 half, and 2 3/4 helmets.
I prefer 3/4.

And don't call my words bashing when they're not. I was asking a simple question. Apparently the answer is because of the airflow.

Full face all the time. I will open the face if going slow enough and no one in front. 99.5% of thte time, the shield is down.

Wow, I'm impressed at the important number of full face for our cruiser members.

Can't stand debris in my face. For the life of me, I can't figure out how the guys that don't wear helmets etc., can actually see over twenty-five mph? To date, I've been hit in the helmet by a metal bolt, a cigarette, various and sundry large insects. Some so large, it sounds like a rifle crack, and the multicolored detritus left on the helmet in the aftermath is kinda impressive. Almost looked like I was hit with a paint ball.

Today, I followed two separate bikes in on the way to work, on two different roads. I was amazed. I rode behind one guy, we were going through a construction zone that required attention because of the edge traps, I noticed he had his full faced lid perched on the sissy bar. Then I came upon a couple on a Geezer Glide or whatever, the rear passenger had their two lids strapped to the hard bags, and she was using them for arm-rests.

Around here, (about 10 minutes from downtown St. Louis), its the Harley guys who never wear helmets. Its like your a sissey if you do. When they have poker runs around here going from Missouri to Illinois, as soon as they cross the bridge into Illinois, they all stop on the interstate and take off thier lids. Speaking of Harley types, I waved at a chick on a Harley tonight comming back from the store and she ignored me. Geez that peeves me off.

I rode mt new 1/2 hemet with motorcycle wraparound glasses. There was 20mph wind and LOTS of bugs & other crap flying in the air. I had all kinds of bugs, seeds and god knows what hit my exposed skin--I'm back to loving my 3/4 WITH shield & full face

Question, for those who have half helmets without windshields. How do you guys ride over 60mph without having the feeling of the helmet flying off. I see a ton of riders in this scenario flying down the highway and i was always curious how you guys do it. I wear a full face but have tried my fathers half helmet and anything past 60mph is really uncomfortable.

My 3/4 without a shield feels like it wants to take off, that's why I wear a shield with that, AND why I bought a 1/2. I wore the half yesterday at realtively high speeds (not highway though, but over 50mph) & no problem with "take off" however I did hear a lot of "batter" with the flaps blowing in the wind even though it was cinched tight.

I tend to catch bugs between the flaps and my ears when I ride the M50 with the 1/2 shell. It becomes downright irritating when I'm trying to enjoy my ride. I ride with the full face most of the time, but I may consider a 3/4 with a face shield (for the M50 only).

I wore my full face yesterday & it was so quiet I almost could sleep--NOT!

i wear a "peanut" most of the time and have no problems. i've had it up to 115mph on a long straight back road with no problems. i wear a skull cap underneath and it stays on fine. i wear the full face when i'm on I40, I85, when it rains, or when it's cold.

Ya know, the people I ride with ride american and metric, most ride Harleys and none ignore or are rude to other bikers no mater what they ride. After all it's all about riding, frindship, fun and a way of life. For the "Harley types" Are you sure it wasn't a RUB? (We ride with those too and have no problems) Don't take it personal and assume someone thinks theyre better than you because they don't wave. Not all "Harley types" are the same so please don't group them.

Helmets, some wear helmets and some don't. Our oldest rider is at least 65, our youngest may be in their 30's and I'm in between @ 50 or on the high side if you wish. Were all old enough to make up our own mind and know the risk of any choice we make. Would I like to see all riders wear a helmet? Probably but it's not my place to choose. Thank you all for caring.

60% of the time I wear a full face, the other 40% is split between my half shell and my wife...

Full Face modular with a doo-rag underneath. I'm a nurse and I have seen too many closed head injuries to get on my M with out my helmet. What really gets me is that although there is no helmet law here in Arkansas( there was years ago but has been repealed) there is a seatbelt law. I do wear a seatbelt but it is by choice not because of the law. My late wife got me in the habit years ago.

I aways run with a full face helmet. Years ago I had an accident that would have been a whole lot worse without a substantial helmet on my empty lil head... Instead of stopping like the STOP sign would suggest, and older "gentleman" sped up and turned left through an intersection. Sadly, I was too close to avoid impact, and where my helmet hit the top of his door, it rippled the roof. So... I have developed a certain appreciation of the ole noggin protectors... And as for the old fella.. well, I vaguely remember him saying "sorry for causing you all the problems..." That makes it all worth while, doesn't it?????

When I was 18 a car ran a red light, I had the green. I was going and hit the cars right front fender behind the tire rolled over the car slid across the road in the path of a Big Rig rolled back on my side of the road ripped off my FULL FACE helmet and through it at the Dumb a** in the car. Since that day I love the full-face it gives me a handle to throw or to use a hammer to bash them if they run into me lol when I open the shield that is lol. So I say I use a FULLFACE Helmet
