That is a good point. Thats the way I treat it when in the cager, why should it be diff on a bike. Thanks for the heads up.

Thumbs up

Repeated flashing of headlight/hi-beams, horn, goosing the throttle... whatever is appropriate for the moment of need. I've used each: headlights/hi-beams as I approach an intersection to the highway and it looks like Johnny Cage driver is going to try to make it across before I get there; horn in a parking lot as a truck was backing up towards me; and "goosing" the throttle to let cagers know I'm there at stoplights, etc so I don't have to hear the aforementioned "sorry, didn't see ya"... escape clause!

Its the same here as well, if you flash your lights you are telling someone to go ahead of you. The modulated headlights sounds like a good idea, though I'm not sure of the legality of them in Ontario.

Its 106 miles to Chicago. We have a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, its dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

Hey, psycho, we're not getting back together. Now get out of my Van Halen t-shirt before you jinx the band and they break up.

I ride during the day with my high beam on and alway tap my breaks to flash then at the beginning of a stop.

Are head light modulators legal in most states?

Indeed they are, and I for one, think they are the greatest thing since sliced bread !

You are NOTICED !

It is the first item and a Brake modulator that I put on my bike before any Bling.

I run the brightest light possible in the day time. I aim the headlight so it catches people eyes when driving at me. Why? I want to be seen. I want people to swear at me in the day time because of my light. That way I know they have seen me. I live by this saying. I would rather have you swear at me than to stand over me and apologize to me that you never saw me and you were sorry you pulled in front of me. I feel so strong about this because a friend was killed by a person making a left turn and never saw the cycle coming. Also watch the front wheel of the vehicle at intersections and cars getting ready to turn. The first thing to move or show what is going to happen is the front tire! Having eye contact with the other driver will not do a thing to help you.

I try my best just to confuse people!
When I'm coming up to an intersecting road, I start riding in a surpentine motion from one side of the lane to the other. People look at me like they think I'm crazy (Which is beside the point!!) but at least I got their attention!!!

I have a very bright headlight that even the instructor at the advanced MSF class was impressed with!

Whatever floats your boat, but I got to tell you that having "confused" people pointing 2 ton projectiles at me would definatly not make me feel safe.

I use the passing button thing on my bike when I think a car is about to pull out in front.

It scares me when I see them about to go and nose dive when they see me. Better late than never I suppose.

I use my high beam during the day, but that's no substitute for paying close attention and expecting people to be stupid. Yesterday while sitting on my bike at a red light I watched a guy chatting on his phone pull his Mercedes SUV right out in front of a big red fire engine that had it's horn blowing, siren on, and lots of flashing red lights.

At night or in less than good visibility, I wear one of those flourescent green vests with reflective stripes. My helmet color of choice is white. I wish my bike was a lighter color, but I did add driving lights on the front.
