Default staying cool

I'm a new rider and want to be safe, wear the gear and all that, but how in the world does one stay cool on a 90 degree day in biker leathers and a full face helmet. Any thoughts or advice.

ventilated leather or armored balistic mesh.

do a search, there have been several posts about what people wear lately.

I did a search and didn't find anything. I must not be searching correctly. I have ventilated leather and it is still might warm.

This year, I purchased the tourmaster magnum air perforated leather. Comfortably ridden at up to 80 degrees - and have not yet removed the lining.

I wear an Icon TiMax 2 Mesh. Very nice, keeps you very cool in the hot weather and has a nice liner for when it cools down. I almost never wear my leather now.

OK, this is handy information I'll have right at my fingertips when I get ready to start riding.

You guys are actually giving good advice? I would have just told him to ride really fast Anywho, I too just tough it out with my regular old leather. I have ridden up to 90deg without too much of a problem but it was only a 15 or so mile ride and I was 17 at the time (more brawn than brains). Recently (last week) I took my leather off due to heat, it was just over 80 deg. It was during my MSF course, a few hours in the sun in black leather just wasn't cutting it. When I get my $250 gift card from kawasaki in the mail I plan to either buy an armored mesh or perforated leather jacket.

to be truthful, my leather isn't ALL black. the boots and pants are black (and not perf'd), but the jacket has some medium blue panels in it (though it's still not perf'd). there's zippers in the shoulders and lumbar area for ventilation, but so far i haven't noticed much of a change if i open them up. it's still kinda hard to take off the jacket in hot weather cuz the liner just STICKS to my skin, but i think i can find a breathable long-sleeve shirt to wear underneath.

i haven't found a textile jacket that i liked as far as fit, weight, and feel, though, so even if they are good for safety and ventilation, i'm not wearing one yet. plus, for some reason, i just trust leather more.

For long trips take a look at an evaporative cooling vest. I carry one in a gallon zip lock bag. At fuel stops I go into the men's room and fill the bag with water. Then I ride for about 20 minutes stop and put that puppy on. Too much hassle for regular day to day riding but for all day stuff its well worth a little extra work.

I just recently purchased a TourMaster Intake mesh jacket. It has armor and a windproof liner and cold weather liner. So far, it has worked great. It was almost 90 degrees Friday and it felt comfortable.
