I have one of these
eBay Motors: EXL-MJ108 MESH SILVER MOTORCYCLE JACKET w/ CE ARMOR (item 290310758472 end time Apr-23-09 16:20:49 PDT)

It's quite wearable in Texas heat. Mesh with armour. I have a gut also and it fits me just fine.

I like that last one. Will look into it. How are the sleeves? Long enough, and don't "ride" up?

Sleaves are plenty long and stay in place, in fact the jacket I posted is a newer model with adjustment straps on the sleaves (mine doesn't) so I'm thinking about buying another one 'cause the sleaves are a little loose around the elbows.

The EXL - MJ108 came today. Will give it a 300 mile test ride Saturday in 80+ degree weather.

I wear a Tourmaster jacket and pants, mesh gloves. I've left skin on pavement before (long time ago) and I didn't like it. It causes medical bills, not to mention the pain involved.

I wear a Nito Mesh year round in Texas. It has a rain liner and a thermal liner for the day or two it cools down. Only thing I have to add is get a light colored one, mine is black and I bake when traffic slows down.

Review on the jacket: Very comfortable, imagine once it loses the new jacket stiffness will be even better. Sleeves are great, long enough for my ape arms and do not ride up exposing wrists to sun and wind burn. Mesh circulates air nicely. Back/bottom of jacket does not hit seat causing jacket to "hike up" behind neck. No annoying wind flap under arms or around waist. Only draw back, it's black, color I wanted, but black is black, will heat up at a stop. All in all, very good product.

Well..this thread has been up a month so you might have already mad a choice...BUT...I wear a First Gear Mesh Tex Jacket, Flourescent Yellow. My daughter has the same in pink/white. CE Shoulder/elbow armor and foam spine pad. Has been comfortable in 95+ degrees. The wind/rain liner is an easy in/out and while it is NOT a substitute for full rain gear it works pretty darn good in light rain. Fit is great. I'm a little on the plus size - 6'2", 255 - and an XL fit me great.
