yes, and as a motorcycle site, we suggest you brush up on high speed counter steering on a bicycle first... people do it, they just don't realize it

also, speaking of helmets... it depends how much you're going to ride... you don't need a $1000 helmet if you aren't doing much riding... if it's a bit noisy, just use ear plugs.
btw, the scorpion exo-1000 is so low in noise it's not funny. i love it.

I've been waiting to hear something about that helmet from a real user.

Any chance you can give us a write up?

Goddess,
I had the CL 15 originally and quickly traded it for the HJC symax modular.
My biggest complaint was getting the dang thing on and off over glasses (and hair)...and it definitely fogged up more than I liked. Both the CL15 and the Symax seem noisy to me... but I am used to it and havent any other real comparisons. My symax lets a lot of air in around my chin and ventilates the face area almost too well. Freakin cold in cold riding weather even with the vents closed!
Whatever, I highly recommend modular. Easy to get on and I cant tell you how many times I have simply flipped up the chin rather than take the darn thing off.

I've been using a CL-15 for about a year. It flows a lot of air, no fogging up but on cold mornings it's seem a bit too much air. If you are not a cold weather rider it won't bother you.

sure ... here's the short version
features i like.
-Reduced noise. better than my hjc ac12
-fits REAL snug. it has a cheek airbag system and an release valve (with instructions for emergency personel how to deflate)
-has built in sun visor. no more need for sunglasses when riding. sun visor pops up and down very easily. no fumbling for it.
-supposed to have good ventilation. the top air intakes are kind of like scoops picking up air instead of just holes like most helmets. has a big exhaust port in bag with you can open and close too.

-easy to pop off the main visor to switch out from smoked to clear
-has a small breathguard to help stop fogging

downsides i've found so far;
-no space for sunglasses at my temples. it's real snug.
-it fogged up at first. (i cleaned it and didn't fog again though)
-cannot crack the visor open a little like most other helmets. first crack is about a 4 inch gap... almost half up.
that's the biggest downside so far..

i have a tough time putting my earphones in with the helmet... real snug.

i paid $450CAN for it... i think it's worth it. it's dead sexy too

Well..I initially said I really loved my HJC CL-15...but I just had an almost 1000 mile ride this weekend. Had bad fog-up Satuday morning in 28 degree sunrise in the mountains. Sunday on the return to Raleigh, we had rain the first 150 miles. I was continually cracking the visor to rid the fog. (about every 5 minutes). Also had a rain leak in each upper corner, just enought to drip water spray into my eyes.
Two of the other riders were wearying Nolan modular helmets. No fog, no leaks. (they were usins Z-wax on the visor). I think I'm changing to another helmet, as I know these conditions are fairly 'normal' in the Western North Carolina mountains (cool-cold mornings, and unpredictable rain).

I am looking at this helmet.

Anybody have this one to say something about it? The more I look at it, and read about it, the more me likes.

Just my 2 cents ... I've had a few helmets, and while my Shoei X-11 was slick, for about 1/4 the cost I bought the Seven Zero Seven Vendetta (Cycle Gear's brand, made by Bell). I don't really notice much weight difference, but my pocket sure is fatter. Most helmets that are DOT and Snell approved are comparable in protection, it's just the materials, design and name you pay for. My X-11 was carbon fiber; very light ... but I had it when I had sport bikes. On the cruiser, sitting mostly upright, for me like I said I don't really notice any weight or aerodynamic differences. The 707 has adequate venting for me and looks great too, without being overly sporty for the cruiser.

true true...

as a first helmet, go for the best fit... if your helmet doesn't fit right, you won't ride as much.. you'll be fatigued, etc...

get one with the best fit... that is the MOST important i'd say...
your 2nd and 3rd helmets will be for the different features you want

I'll have you know ER that I killed it in the MSF class Bicycle skills well worked into the genes. I remember as a kid being able to steer my 10-speed with my knees (throwing out either the left or right knee to shift my weight) while my hands were resting very nicely on my hips.

Good for you! You DID have to go back a ways in the messages to quote THAT one, didn't you !!

I generally don't like white bikes but your's looks pretty good.

While I did like my GZ, I kind of had this nagging feeling that the Rebel might be better overall........and I DO like my new Honda a LOT better!

You may find that shifting the knees.....and some of the parts attached to the knees......also works on a small motorized "bike"........just as long as you don't shift the knee down to meet the pavement, that is !!

Yes, and here's the kicker:

Today, as I'm walking into school, some useless caca of a blade of grass reached up, grabbed my right ankle and made me face plant in front of the school.

I landed on my knees.

AGAIN.

The right one is now a dark brown color.

Now I've to figure out how to get rid of the grass stain in my slacks.
