Default Riding Pants

OK here's a total new guy question. I don't even know what they are called, Riding Pants, Leathers, Over Pants? Thought I'd make a fool of myself here before I walk into a store and act stupid...

I work in an office and need to wear slacks and a nice shirt. I can get away with jeans a couple of times a week but since I require my staff to dress well I can't very well show up in jeans all the time...

I've got a good riding jacket that has a removable liner...

As far as pants go: What's the best way to ride to work safely and comfortably without having to have a change of clothes at the office. My ride is 25 miles each way. I live in SoCal so it never really gets cold, occasionally during the winter it may dip down to 45-50 in the morning but that's rare. Average temp were I live is about 70-75 year round.

It rains about 10-15 days a year so that's not a factor either.

What do you guys suggest and what kind of cash outlay am I looking at?
