Default Vanson Ventmax Mesh Jackets

People like to bad mouth mesh jackets, saying they'll melt or they'll fall apart. Lots of jackets can fall apart, and the weakest point is usually the seams. 3mm elephant hide won't protect you if the seams give way.

The big Mesh vs. Leather discussion got me doing a lot of research on the topic, and as the owner of a Joe Rocket Leather / Textile jacket I was not too pleased with all of the reports I read about Joe Rocket gear falling apart at bad times. I also read alot of positive things about the Vanson Ventmax line. This motivated me to order a new Vanson Ventmax 3 from my favorite people at http://www.newenough.com/vanson_vent...acket_page.htm (free shipping on it too)

Stats from www.vansonleather.com:
The Vent Max3 is made of 1000 denier knitted Cordura nylon mesh, with an athletic nylon mesh lining. Internal leather panels at the elbow and shoulder impact zones. Besides the leather in the impact zones there is CE approved shoulder, elbow and back armor included. Low bulk leather bead style collar and cuffs.

While I was there, I also picked up a Powertrip Blackjack leather jacket marked down from $200 to $59. http://www.newenough.com/powertrip_b...acket_page.htm

I'm not wearing freakin' leather on a nice cruising ride when It's 95°F out there - but I know too may people who can describe road rash in first hand gory detail. This Vanson jacket looks like a summertime winner.

I'm thinking the Joe Rocket jacket may soon visit eBay....
