I have Metzler ME-880's on mine, and they grip and ride REALLY well. It had Avon Venom's on it when I bought it, I burned the back tire off due to unintentional wheel spin under moderate-hard acceleration and the front wheel cupped and had to be replaced. Mine are blackwall, I can't help you with the white letters... I had Conti Bliz tires on my old '81 GPz 550 and they were really quite good for the time (1987) but I suspect technology has advanced quite a bit in regards to tread pattern and compounds since then.

I'm not sure if this will be helpful or not, but it's my 2 cents

Hello all V65 Magna riders. Need your help. I just bought a 1984 V65 Magna and it's going to need new tires. I like the raised white letter tires but don't know the brand nor the way they ride. I would prefer radial tires but I've been told the bike pre-dates the radials...
What I need to find out is what is the best recommended tire for the V65, second, third best. There is a pair of Conti on ebay that will sell for under 145 for the pair but are they good or what. My Valk had the Avon Venoms and I thought they were the best cycle tire on the road....any comments??????
