- Thanks!! I've been looking at them and looks like I'll go for that. Like you said the grinding out of the hole shouldn't be a big deal.
Tried to check the phone link but not working but I'm sure that I've got the bolt that you are talking about.
As for the seats, the more and more that I've been reading and chatting with I'm going to for the Mustang. I'm planning on riding it a lot so I want confort over style, not that it's a bad style anyway! LOL The pic below of YoungBloodM50 is excatly now how I have mind...lol Well I didn't paint any of the parts yet, breather, exahust, etc. - 10-24-2008 08:32 AM - permalinkGeorgiaRollerI'm have this plate eBay Motors: CURVED side mount license plate. OVERSTOCKED 25% OFF!!! (item 170272193107 end time Oct-24-08 07:36:23 PDT)
It mounts here http://i490.photobucket (you'll have to grind out the hole on the plate to make it bigger - no bid deal)
I've had both seats. The Mustang is much more comfortable IMO.
Good Luck! - You know I just might do what you did and see if I can't modify that bracket or cover it or something until I deside if I really should replace the seat. The bike just looks so damn good without that back seat, plus it's a great way to prevent people from asking, "can you take me for a ride"..lol I hear you about playing/using the PS3 or riding/mod the M50...the bike usually wins!! LOL

That ugly bracket is still there. Will eventually paint it black so it will blend in. I would like to get a new seat but it's too expensive. DiamondJim made a good thread about modding the stock seat so I may do that in the future. As for spending money on the bike, I really haven't spent a whole lot. Between everything I am in the hole maybe $200. That's the paint, lowering bones, Handle bar, side mount license plate holder, and License plate light bolts. I ordered from ebay a lot. Plus you can get good deals in the market watch area of the forums. I used to spend all my time and efforts in video games. Now the PS3 just collects dust. My wife is happier I waste money on this instead. LOL. - Really, your seat is stock? What about the ugly bracket that was used to attach the back seat? I took the back seat off but didn't like the look of that bracket there. I'd like to start with the mods but they can be expensive, like a crack attdiction..lol, plus the time that I'm unable to ride it..lol About the only mods that I've done right now are new handle grips from Kuryakyn and crusie control from BreakAway. Not sure if I'd like to go anymore other then new seat, maybe, and saddlebags, removable. I just love how the bike looks as is...lol But then I just got mine and haven't had it for a year...might wind up doing what you did..hehe
- 10-15-2008 12:20 AM - permalinkYoungBloodM50Thanks for the compliment. The seat is stock, I just removed the rear. So far I have lowered 3", blacked out pipes, air box, and pair cover. Just put on my side mount license plate holder. Need to change the turn signals so I can get rid of the ugliness under the taillight. Also just got 28" drag bar today in the mail. Hopefully will install this weekend. I read your post from last month, I also like the look of the bike stock. I rode for the last year stock, until a couple months ago, when I found this forum and started the mods.
