I have a 1996 Suzuki Intruder 1400. (been sitting for 12 years)
I recently had a problem that when the engine got fully hot and this took 15-25 minutes of driving. The clutch would not disengage. I could let it cool down and it would work fine till it heated up again. I just made it home while revving the engine to get about 10 mph. I let it sit overnight and renewed the clutch fluid and bled the system. I read some articles about old contaminated fluid boiling and causing pressure to be created on the slave cylinder and not allowing the clutch to disengage. So I removed all the old fluid from the clutch master cylinder and added DOT 4 and bled the unit and the clutch seemed to function. But, when I put it in gear it just revved up and no movement. Transmission seems to function properly, it is just like when the old fluid was in the system. The hydraulic clutch feels brand new now.
What could cause this problem of no movement when transmission engaged?
