BTW, I never did have anything but the stock pipes on this bike, but I have heard two bikes with StreetRods, a Honda VTX 1300, and a Honda Shadow 750. While I really like the streetrods in both looks and sound, they really are just too loud. I have also heard an M50 with V&H Cruisers, and they were not as loud as the StreetRods, and not quite as sharp, but they were louder than de-baffled stockers.

I really liked the drilled holes in the stock pipes, and I had 8 holes in each pipe. I can't remember if I stopped at 1/2" or 5/8" diameter, but the sound was much deeper, with a nice rumble to it, and a fair amount louder. I also like the de-baffled pipes with the fibrosleeves, but this set up is a bit louder than the holes. It is, however, not nearly as loud and sharp as the StreetRods though. I did not care for the de-baffled pipes without the fibrosleeves, as it had too much extraneous noise in it. The sleeves do remove all the high pitched lawn mower type sounds.

Please note that I did not remove the Mickey Plates, and do not plan to as many have said that they lost torque after doing so.

    I hope this helps

hey old new biker just have a question i know you used to have the streetrods at one time i have a pair and find them to loud so i am selling them i am considering drilling holes in the back plates of the stock pipes and wanted to get your opinion on the sound difference not the loudness difference, i also realize that you recently did the full debaffle how would you compare the sound of that to just the drilled plates?
