Default My Sport Touring Dual Sport!

After a weekend of traversing roads covered in flood water, mud, sand, and all forms of storm debris, I can't decide if my bike is a Sportbike, Sport Tourer, or a Dual Sport?

Hey, Gixxerdale...

Is the color of the chain on your Gixxer originally brown or is that just the signs of some very needed lubing? Just happened to notice it in the pic labeled 100_2715.

I suppose mine would be the same way if I logged as many miles as you .

It's actually a gold or brass color, with a layer of dirt and mud from Sundays ride. I try to clean and lube the chain every 500 miles, and that seems to come around a few times a week. Worst case it may see 1000 miles with out a cleaning and lube. I need to retire just so I have enough time to do routine maintenance, unlike Uncle Stoppie Bob who has it done. Better yet, anyone know of any fulltime jobs that involve riding motorcycles?

do worry bout clocking up large amounts of miles on your gixer which might make the bike hard to sell on when you want to?

Not at all. I got it to ride not admire. I figure I'm going to have all the fun with it. I'll know it's issues and have a great ride for many years. When the Gixxer is all worn out, I might be too, so I'll have to switch to a Busa and start all over!

see i clock up bout 75miles everyday, and i see the mileage soar on my baby and wonder if i will be able to sell it when the time comes and i am certainly not in a position where i can just chuck it away and buy a busa, maybe if i win the lotto or something

Well, just like Nut rides the old Gixxers, I'd probably keep this one and keep her running. I grown pretty attached to it. More than any other bike I've had in 33 years of riding. Well, I do miss my old Ducati. Should have kept that one too, and gotten rid of the Ex then instead of waiting so long to get rid of her! She hated the Duc! Ain't hind sight great!

My EX destroyed all my old photos when we split, before I could get my hands on them. She hated my bikes. There are some On line that I'll try link.

This was one, but not the one I regret parting with.

Here is an add for the one I regret parting ways with. The guy that got it sold it on EBAY last summer. When the bidding got way high, I stopped watching. Sure was a sweet perfect condition old Duc!
