The beach at Alyiki... The temple of mars in the foreground.

Overlooking the ruins of Mars' temple

The view from the other side of the Alyiki peninsula

Another view from the road...

Anne standing in the (ancient greek & Roman) disused marble quarry..

Looking from the quarry out to sea (Towards Turkey)..

An abandoned Roman column amidst the quarry debris, this thing is actually about 40' long.

This is the ancient Greek theatre at Phillipi, currently the oldest used in the world it was built by Phillip 2, Alexander the Great's father.

The Roman forum at Phillipi

The (much later) Byzantine church that fell down during build and was never used for worship

The reconstructed outer collonade of the theatre

The remains of Alexanders processional parade. (You can still see the tracks made by Alexander and his predecessors chariots, being as the Romans only used this part for foot traffic).

We walked on Alexander's road..

You may call it the 'John'.....

A Roman officers headstone at a place called Lydia, named ofter the first ever baptised Christian woman... Lydia...

The very spot where Lydia was baptised by St. Paul.

The very cell St. Paul was imprisoned in by the Romans at Phillipi.

Another roadside view...

Golden Beach at 7pm, (a thirty second walk from the apartment), looking north,

Looking South...

Looking South East at 9.30pm (We couldnt see the sunset as the mountains obscure the view)

And there was loads of these....

See....

But would you ever consider adopting a 40+ year old biker?
