I think you're supposed to have you head and shoulders off to the side of the bike (down). Your spine should be about parallel to the centerline of the bike. In the picture, your butt is hanging off, but your head is right above the centerline of the bike.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong , this thread is the only thing I've read about body positions on a sport bike.

How about different riders, different techniques

Can see it in motogp also. Some are scraping elbows, and the dude behind isn't even close, and still riding as fast.

I don't think he is not doing too bad. His body is centered. I have seen many slide the butt off yet there body would be on top of the bike. With his body a bit more centered on the bike he will have more control over the bike. You can look at current riders and see a difference in style. The old school guys will be a little higher on the bike than the younger guys that are dragging elbows. If the bike loses traction or if an adjustment has to be made it is easier to do while closer to center on the bike.

Hanging Off - Jamie Hacking - Sport Rider Magazine This is a good read on the subject.

That looks insanely fun man. Some day, when I can control the fact that I'm an idiot... I want to get a sport bike. Your pics are making my sickness worsen.

If you look at the first picture and then the second, and try to figure out that it's actually an S-turn, then you might understand. I watch alot of early apexers in that turn, and then they have allready f**ked up the right, left, right combo.
