Thanks ILM50,

I agree, black is the only bike color I really like.Really makes the chrome stand out! You got a neat bike there, what size is the engine?

Thanks, Clutch. It's an 800 like yours, but from what I understand the "guts" are slightly different. Your S50 is supposed to be the fastest of the 3 50's. Just don't say it's fastest because of the color, that will get some people kinda riled up!

I think the speedo is there. Look at the pic of the handlebars/clock. You can see it hiding behind there. Just not the right vantage point to see it.

nice.
Rather than start a new thread, here's a couple pics of my S50 bare bones a day after I bought it. It now has sissy bar and saddlebags.

Very nice Clutch. She shines up real good.
That tank sticker would drive me buggy though. Just think, with a little homework on how to carefully remove those nuisance factory stick-ons...you just might see more of that shiny black paint.

Thanks,Atlas68,
She's a yr. old now and that sticker is fixin to come off. It is an eyesore. I understand there's a drill attachment to remove decals w/o paint damage. Have you or anyone used it?

I like the look of the engine guard with highway pegs. I just ordered a Suzuki windshield to go with the saddlebags and sissy bar.
What type of seat is that? The OEM seat is pretty uncomfortable for me but that one you have looks very nice.

The engine guard is a genuine Suzuki factory guard. The stock seat had to go. I agree,it's too uncomfy and gave me monkey butt after only 20 mins. of riding. The seat is a Mustang wide touring and I read reviews before buying and all were positive. Here is a link. Mustang Motorcycle Products, Inc.

I paid more than what I would liked to ($447.00)but once you take a ride you realize it's worth it. The Kuryakyn Tombstone bag you see on my bike also doubles as a backrest . It has three zip on/off thickness pads to adjust how far forward or back to sit, making for an even more comfort.

The stock seat has got to go!!
I rode just 80 miles today and my butt is so sore! I'm going to order a mustang seat - trying to decide between the Vintage wide touring and the Wide Regal.

Good idea, I would choose the vintage wide because it has more lower back support and would be more comfortable for long trips.

I just bought a vintage wide on Ebay for $360 shipped.
I just rode 228 miles today and enough is enough.
I will post updated pics once I get the seat on.

Here's the latest pictures - I just washed the bike after riding 120 miles in the rain yesterday.

..yes I'm stopped on the road - I didn't see another vehicle on this 20 mile section - the Siuslaw River Road between Lorane, OR and Wolf Creek Rd.
