Default Installing Tach on '02 Intruder LC 1500

New tach, 4 wires, red green, blue, black. Blue and black are the light circuit, no problem. One of the others goes on the coil, but where does the other go? I've tried everything and the tach doesn't respond.
- the instructions said go across the coil (it shorts out the coil, now you've got one lung)
- the instructions also said put one wire on the coil the other to battery (huh? it's already got battery, why does it need more. This didn't work either obviously)
- I tried one lead to ground, no response
Maybe the tach is defective, either that or I am. The dealerships only want to saell new biles and clothes, no help there.
If anyone has an idea, please let me know. Thanks....

Default Tacho

The lighting circuit is separate and connected to your lightswitch ( If any)
Furthermore to make the tach work it needs a positive and a puls from your ignition coil.
Succes
