Default clutch or trans?

I have a 1998 suzuki gsxr 750 that shifts funny between first and second once in a while. I just bought it and when i first got it it would not shift from neutral to first or second once it warmed up, it would just stall or grind. I found out that the clutch was sticking and once i adjusted it would go into first or second from neutral just fine, but now the shifting between first and second feels verry clunky and sometimes when im on it shifting around 8grand from first to second it will go into neutral and will grind if i try to go into first or second unless i slow down almost to a stop. it only does this sometimes and when i ride the bike normally it shifts fine and never jumps out of gear. the bike has a barnett kevlar clutch in it with some really stiff springs, so stiff that in order to get the clutch to work normally the lever has absolutly no freeplay in it. I think that the clutch is draging slightly and thats why im having the shifting problem but i would like to know if anyone else has had this type of problem?
i have a complete stock clutch on order and i have already replaced the lifter and cable. And does anyone know how to remove the three tiny philps head screws that hold the spring holder into the basket assembly, there partially stripped but i havent had that much time to try to get them out.
