hello all new to site- working on a friends 1981 gs 450e and cannot figure out this idle problem. problem: starts, runs fine, set 1500 rpm, then 5minutes after warm up, rpm rises on its own to about 3-4000rpm... also when you twist the throttle it remains high.. solutions tried: have dismantled and cleaned carbs, actualy had them apart at least 7 times... thought jets were wrong size purchased complete carb rebuild stuff with new jets sized according to manual... checked intake boots for leaks...i've been through this bike with two other competent bike nuts, and we keep comming up with, fuel, air or vaccuum leak. but CANNOT locate the source of the trouble.... any theriories or suggestion would be mostwecome! thanks! ps I am not fluent with CV carbs that much, iusually work on old 60 BMWS or Triumphs,,,, |
