Not the springs. If you put new plates, before they go in, soak them in tranny fluid.

What kind of mechanic has no tworque wrench?? I have one for sale if you want 10$shipped its just an old one with a bending shaft with indicator.. You can find them all day long 10-20$ on ebay.

I`d suggest to get a manual all this is explained in it.

I knew I have the wrong job - there ain't a torque wrench in the place! Just a bunch of computers and other useless stuff (when it comes to motorcycles). I picked one up for about $25.00 at a local hardware store. Now I need to go get myself a set of 1/2 socket wrenches, so that I can actually use the thing!

Yeah i had to buy my own socket wrenches as well to fit the torque wrench (it only came with a piece of equipment i use at work). If only work were more understanding to my needs i wouldn't have to suffer such uneccesary expenditure .

OMG
You would soak the plates in auto tranny oil to get them soaked with oil. the tranny fluid acts as regular oi but penetrated better. If you install them and don`t adleast out some oil on them they will work crappy at first or not at all and wear them down before they get oiled up.
