Ok my B12 has started to produce a slight clunk noise at around two to three thousand RPM but the funny part is it is only in first or second gear. It is around 60 to 70 kilometers an hour speed wise and apears to originate from the front LH side...near the starter clutch. It used to be only when cold but has now remained even when warmed up. It possibly sounds like a misfire from number one cylinder and has got me thinking that a post on another forum might be something to do with it. This guy had a B12 and was asking if there was a pink wire from the rear of the machine that fed to a first and second gear retarder...so the bike was less likely to wheely in those gears. I put this down to an urban legend and thought no more about it. Now having looked at my wiring diagram I see the bike does indeed have a gear position sensor which I figured it didn't...it would need this in order for a retarder to work. So does it have one and where is it? I guess it may be the TPS that is on its way out but from several other posts I have read on Maximum Suzuki this seems to do little whether connected or not. Anyone have any ideas? Blade I know you have worked on these machines for a long time...ever hear of this retarder? Cheers Steve Additional info... the clunk seemed to occur when first started and not in gear...as if one cylinder misses for one stroke...until warm, but now stays around for a bit longer. |
