Well, I installed them today and wow! I must say they sound incredible! Much better than I was anticipating. It's true what they say about installing the heat shields first because they are a pain to put on. I didn't bother firing it up with the baffles. I took them right out and it was definitely to my liking. The only thing is that it backfires like crazy! I have been reading about de-pairing and have just plugged the air hose with a bolt. I hope it works because those backfires are loud and annoying. Flames came out of the damn pipe! You know that can't be good. I'll keep you posted on that. Thanks again for your help, man. I really appreciate it.

does it do that all the time or just when you let off the gas??? if it actually makes a loud bang or pop you might need to adjust that cobra module you have differently. also check for exhaust leaks. if there is a air leak in the pipe it can cause unburnt gasses to explode and make a back fire. i put my heat shields on last and that was the easiest part. put on all the hose clamps on the shields slipped the open clamps over the pipes than tightened them down. | |

I believe it was an exhaust leak. I went back to tighten the bolts and I also disabled the pair valve just in case. Really seemed to help the situation. Now there is no more backfiring. The gurgle is great, but occasionally I'll get a popping sound. Not a backfire; just a couple of pops. I'd say i would be running lean, but I do smell burned gas sometimes so I could be rich. I could possibly tighten them a bit more. Trial and error I suppose. Just glad the backfiring is gone.
