Default 2004 Ninja start problems (ignition coil)

there was no response at all from the bike, so I jumpered out the kill switch and now I seem to get a neutral light and an oil light. When I hit the start button the ignition coil makes a clicking noise and vibrates (but it doesnt blow its fuse, so i dont think its a short). Is it a bad ignition coil or is this clicking a problem from something else.

Any help is appreciated.

afterthoughts: Bike has been running fine for the last few thousand miles (has less than 3k). Everything seemed fine till it just wouldn't turn on any lights after a particularly long ride (130 miles). After jumpering the kill switch and hooking a charger to the battery (thought battery was just dead) I get lights and hear clicking. Finding that the source of the clicking is the ignition coil (or motorcycle equivalent, I know cars. It feeds the plugs wires so I assume its an ignition coil or some voltage transformer). Also important to note that when the key is turned on the tach instantly reads 7000 RPM... but the motor isn't running, I promise lol.
