|  VZ800 Charging system problem
I'm hoping someone can help diagnose this problem because I really don't want to go to the stealer. My bike is a 2002 Suzuki Marauder VZ800. Here's the problem: At low RPM, I have a "normal" charge rate, 13.2volts +/-, as the RPM's increase, the volts drop, at cruise speed, the voltage ranges between 12 to 12.4, with an occasional dip below 12volts. Now, I realize that the 13.2 volts at low RPM is a bit low, so, I'm wondering if the alternator needs to be replaced? Seems to me that the voltage should hover around 13.2 or more at all RPM's. Here's the kicker, the battery has never gone dead and has always started!! |
