Default rear wheel alignment

Bike: '99 Suzuki Marauder 800

I'm just finishing up the installation of my 17-tooth sprocket and am aligning the rear wheel. I know it should be "absolutely as close at possible", and I've definitely done that... My question is whether there is ANY margin of error allowed here. I can say for certain that both sides are within a half-millimeter of each other, if not exact. (I've quadruple-duple checked it.) Should I call it good?

Also, consider the fact that I'll be getting new tires within the next few weeks, so it will be professionally aligned then.

Thanks to all,

jesse
