hey guys this isnt actually about my bike but i thought somebody might know a little about them. Its a 18 hp b&s twin vertical engine. Its actually off my old lawnmower. I cannot seem to get it to keep running. If i pour fuel straight into the carb she will fire up and burn that then die. It almost seems as if the fuel is not comin thru, as maybe i need to put a primer on it or something - is this a good place to start? cause yet when i put a pump on the fuel hose at any given spot (before, after the fuelfilter, right before the carb) i get get fuel to come out of the tank but it almost seems like its not wanting to do this by itself. There is also a "contraption" on the front of the engine that links the throttle to the carb and i dont really know how it works so i took it off and hooked the cable up directly to the carb to control my throttle. So i dunnno if it would have anything to do with how the fuel is not getting there cause the fuel line does not have anything to do with it. But i put it back on and it does not make a difference and i dunno if it is half broken or what but it doesnt control my throttle very well anyways its seems to take a long time before it will idle down or idle up (when i used to have it running it sat for about 1-1/2 to 2 years) So just kinda wondering if anyone know anything about anything about this if they could help me out. i am stumped. thanks.
