My god-daughters 125 AT will start and idel like a champ. Will not rev up unless choked (by hand), have not tried cable operated choke, figured it would be about the same, maybe. Recently, a few months (last fall) back, someone poured water in the tank, I cleaned it out and finally after removing the carb about ten times it ran good. Last time I cleaned it I found the jet in the bowl, not sure anything was in it, but after cleaning it ran good(may hae been just luck). Ran good a few days and was parked a while, now back to same problem. I have removed the carb at least a dozen times cleaning and blowing it out with compressed air each time. After removing the carb about twice I pulled the tank and found a very small amount of water and trash or "stuff". Cleaned and rinsed out with new gas. No change in performance. I have sprayed some stuff all over and around the carb/rubber piece connecting the carb to the head and really don't think I have a vacuum leak which it really seems to have or it seems to be starving for gas just above idle. When I start to rev it up, it will go dead, or if you lucky you can pump the throttle and it will rev up some. If choked to get it to rev up it seems to run up to RPM but seems to be lean. I pulled the plug the last time I tried it and the plug is a tan to brown color which would indicate a lean mixture. Also when I hand choke and get it to rev up, it appears to blow a little mixture back out the carb, but it may be running at top RPM and should do this?? If anyone could help, I would really appreciate any help, it is running me nuts. I have worked on vehicles most of my life but have not worked on bikes or such very much. This 4 wheel has probably be riden a lot and since I have the tank off I might as well adjust the valves. I best info I can fine is the valves set on .004 Intake and .008 exhaust? Will this work? |
