|  I Need A New Key
I bought a 2008 Honda Shadow 750 last month with only 500 miles on it... Great bike no problems except the original owner lost the original keys. He had generic ones made and they work fine except they only go in one way, in other words there is a top and bottom to the key. From what I understand the OEM keys will work either way. I got two blank Honda keys but could not find a Honda dealer that would cut them. I just went to the local hardware store. They cut one one way and the second the other and neither one worked. Stopping by my local Honda shop on the way home the service guy said the only way to get a factory key was to take the ignition apart bla bla bla and would cost about $500.00. It's not a big deal but I've gotta believe there is a better cheaper way to get an OEM key. I have the key code and of course the VIN#. Any suggestions...??? |
