Exclamation Ok What Did I Do, And How Do I Fix It?

On the way to work this morning I went to shift my foot on the peg and I caught the shifter with the toe of my boot and it tried to shift from 4th to 5th but missed and grinded for a second. I pulled in the clutch and put it back into 4th and continued on. When I got on the Highway the bike occasionally acted like it was cutting out in 5th, but in watching the rpms it was actually slipping. It would only do it occasionally and it would only lasted a second. I opted to turn around and park the bike until I could figure out what is going on. The bike only does it in 5th, there is no link to speed or rpms.

My inclination is that I damaged a tooth in the Transmission but I never heard anything rattling around. I will drain the oil tonight to see if there are any parts or fragments in there.

So any thoughts?
