Hi I have a 2008 C90 and am trying to look after the basic maintenance as per the owner's manual myself. No problems changing the oil and filter. It says to grease the gearshift link pivots. Doesn't say how so I took off the bolt holding the gear shift assembly to the bike and greased where it rotated on the bolt as well as where it wears against the frame. Doesn't say in the manual but it appears there was Locktite on the threads of the bolt so I added more before tightening it. Did a similar thing to the Brake lever on the right. Oiling clutch and brake levers is pretty straight-forward. QUESTION: 1) You can see a bit of the decompression cable just above the front cylinder on the right. The manual just tells you to oil this cable. Would squirting oil on the cable you can see and letting it run down be sufficient? Or do you have to take things apart (false tank panels off, etc) to do it properly? 2) Manual says to oil the throttle cables. They seem to be sealed to me. How do you do this? Sorry if these questions are too elementary for this forum. Thanks |
