I bought an 82 suzuki gs550L. I dont know when it last ran. It would not start when I got it. I have gone through the carbs and cleaned them, fixing the first problem which was that the needle valves were stuck open so it was pouring gas everywhere. I have checked the spark plugs and carbs 1 & 2 are a sandy brown color. carbs 3 & 4 are a wet black like there is oil on them. All four of them have spark. When Im trying to start it, it cranks over very strongly but it never makes the sounds like its coming to life and going to start. The only thing I can think of is that maybe there is still something wrong with the carbs. There is no cable on the choke or throttle so I have to hold the choke on when Im trying to start it. I have tried opening the throttle while Im starting it too and nothing. Everything seems like it should be right. But it wont go. What now?
