Default Does anyone know

If the signal generator is part of the Stator assembly on an 06 C90? My bike won't start, it's getting fuel but no spark from either coil. The stator was a problem last year under warranty and I'm thinking of starting from there. I had thought the signal generator was a seperate part but when I called the dealer, he said that it was part of the stator assembly.

If this is the case and it proves to be the culprit then the dealer has to fix it for free under the warranty due to the first fault not being corrected............good luck with that as in most cases they decline to do so.

I would not have thought a signal generator would be part of a stator due to heat unless the alternator is an extenal one...having said that mine is an extenal alternator but I have a seperate signal generator so who knows?...... the mysterious goings on in Jap land!

Good luck

Well the bike's been out of warranty for a little over a year. It was just barely out of warranty when they replaced it the first time. I don't think they'll warranty it now.

Yes, it is part of the stator assembly.

Argh, that's nuts. Would be nice if you could replace the signal generator and p/u coil seperately. I suspect the stator itself to be fine as it's charging the battery just fine..Just don't look forward to spending 300 bucks every 12,000 miles to replace the damn thing. Really starting to wish I had opted for the VTX lol.
