| My 06 S50 has 3000mil, I went for a 35mil trip on the freeway today, returned home Parked the bike for 2 hours in the garage, and when I went to start it again, I turned the ignition and there was electric power, I switched the engine kill key and press the start key. I heard a "tek" sound and all the electrical power died on the bike. I checked the fuses and Battery lead and they were OK. The Battery was on an automatic charger all winter and I topped it with distilled water at the begining of the season and had no problems before. Any ideas what would have happened, any checks I can do? Thanks Smikail

| Check your bank account and see if you can afford a new battery! Check the battery.....or take it to a battery shop for a load test. Check both main cables from the battery at BOTH ends.

| VS800s are known for poor connections at the battery, leading to sudden and total electrical loss. Check the connections where the cables screw to the terminals, and in some cases also where the terminals screw to the battery. Your best bet it to put some star washers on the connections, as they vibrate loose easily without some sort of lock washer on them. Mine did this 4 or 5 times in the first year, but once I put star washers on the connections it never happened again.
