| Hello all---change my oil/filter for the first time last year. Went to change it today and stripped the oil plug nut. Had to chisel it loose to MUCh frustration. Has anyone had this kind of trouble before? I didn't overtighten, but apparently tightened a little too much. (I went according to owner's manual) |

The combination of those two things has done in many a Zuki owner! It is even worse if you use a 12 point socket. I ground down a socket to prevent the problem; just hope I remember where I put it when it comes time for the next change. A "plain" open end or box wrench works pretty good IF you pay close attention to what you are doing.

| Ahhh!!! yes the wonderful feeling of a stripped bolt head and possibly the skinned knuckles to boot. I guess you can count yourself lucky it was only the head that got stripped and not the thread! As Er says a ground down socket is the best way to go. If using a standard socket then make absolutly sure the socket remains fully snugged up.
