| You can use 10w-40 but I will tell you that standard motor oil is not up to the job of a constant mesh transmission. I would suggest you use a good quality motorcycle gearbox oil such as Motul PJ1 Bel-Ray or Silkolene. The sheer point of standard motor oil is about 1/3 of current high performance gearbox oils. Add to that the fact that you bathe the clutch with the same oil that the gearbox uses to lubricate the gears, syncros and bearings makes it all the more reason to not use standard motor oil.
