...and yes, i searched on this...and posted in an other thread...but no replies...so i am asking here.... My husband and I just drilled 3 each 7/16" holes in the back baffle of his stock VTX 1300 pipes. It sounds wonderful under acceleration or deceleration now...but at idle it is not nice at all. It goes Phffft phffft phffft.... just like someone drilled a hole in a muffler....LOL. The reading I have done on this "clayton mod" has left me cross eyed ...some say it helps...some say it will only make it annoyingly louder. Anyone know the technical side of this? Frank doesnt want to drill any more ...but I suspect more holes might relieve more pressure and even out that annoyance in the idle sound. Should we drill more holes or not? ( I should do this on Car Talk....with Click and Clack..... they would love me to reproduce the sounds... LOL ) |
